Dave Bonta: Same here. Top-heading garlic is one of my favorite garden things to look at - I grow it as an ornamental. Took this photo a couple of years ago, while I was sitting out in the garden having a cold beverage.
OK, so why is there a garlic growing through some denim?
I thought from the thumbnail it was a tendril, but this is even more fascinating to see. Any idea why it grew round in a circle?
Dave Bonta: All garlic heads start out like that, then they gradually straighten, turning from question marks into exclamation points, and finally burst, revealing dozens of bulblets. That's why they make such great ornamentals.
This one simply got trapped in the bend of my leg when I sat down, and I thought it looked photogenic that way.
