Dave, this is a great picure, love the butterfly, where did you capture it, some garden in the zoo?? the green leaves just makes this complete, great composition.
Dave Bonta: Thanks, Astrid. This was taken in the woods above my house. tiger swallowtails are actually quite comment here. Note that it's missing one of its "tails," lost to a hungry bird, no doubt. That's the purpose of those wing extensions, beautiful as they are. The butterfly has no problem flying without them.
