Okay, having just mentioned this photo in my comment on your lair jordans, I have to say this photo really does it for me. It's one of the best examples of good use of colour I've seen for a long time, and the softening of the bird gives it a kind of dream-like quality. Small details add so much — that lone white feather crammed up against the LH edge, almost gone but still here, echoes what's happening to the bird itself and adds a lightness (in all senses) that greatly enhances the photo. I can't speak for anyone else (although I hope they'll do that themselves), but this, for me, is a beautiful, melancholy photo that says as much about life as it does about death. Well done, Dave.
